Kayla Matrunick, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, is registered dietitian who specializes in sports and wellness nutrition.

Kayla is the Director of Performance Nutrition at the University of Louisville where she oversee’s the nutrition for twenty-three athletic teams. She is the Universities first Director and manages one of the nations largest sports nutrition programs with three full-time dietitians.

She previously served as the Director of Sports Nutrition at the University of Notre Dame. During her time (2011- 2015) she assisted the Irish in seven team national championship appearances.

Prior to the Irish, Kayla strengthened her base as a clinical dietitian at Covenant Health in Knoxville as a dietitian for The Center for Weight Management, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center, and The Diabetes Management Clinic, and as a consultant for gastroenterologist. In 2009, Kayla began a private practice, Food2Fit, where she specialized in a holistic approach to lifestyle management through nutrition and fitness coaching. During this time she also served as the store dietitian, community outreach coordinator, and wholesale food buyer for The Health Shoppe in Knoxville ,Tennessee. where she was introduced to Trace Minerals Brands.

Matrunick’s passion began at The Pennsylvania State University where she competed in Cross Country and Track and Field and earned her bachelors degree in nutritional sciences. She continued her education at The University of Tennessee where she completed her master’s degree in Sports Psychology. While at Tennessee she served as the volunteer distance coach/ recruiting coordinator for the track and field and cross country programs. After her time at Tennessee she completed her dietetic internship at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.

Kayla Matrunick is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietitetics (CSSD) and is a member of Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) didactics practice group, and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine (DIFM). She also holds a USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coaching Certification.
